Shahrzad

Shahrzad began dance training at a young age in the United States and entered professional Oriental dance while still in her teens. Her interest in Egyptian dance eventually led her to relocate to Egypt in 2015. In Cairo she worked professionally in clubs, stage productions, film and media while continuing intensive cultural and musical study. Shahrzad became particularly respected for combining practical professional experience with detailed instruction on Egyptian social and folkloric traditions. She later created Shahrzad Studios, an educational platform covering dance alongside Arabic music, language and cultural subjects. Her career provides contemporary dancers with a rare perspective shaped by both the Western studio system and long-term professional life inside Egypt.
