Saida / Verónica Helou

Saida, whose name is Verónica Helou, began studying Arab dance with Amir Thaleb in 1991. She spent approximately a decade as a principal dancer in his company and developed into one of Argentina's most visible Oriental performers. Her earlier ballet background contributed to the strong lines and theatrical polish of her stage work. She later became an international teacher, choreographer and director of her own school. Saida's career helped establish the technically ambitious Argentinian style that became highly influential throughout Latin America and the international competition scene.
