Sahar Samara

Sahar Samara developed professionally through Egyptian folkloric performance before establishing herself as a Raqs Sharqi soloist. She worked with Tito Seif's performance environment and later entered Cairo's professional Oriental dance scene. International audiences became more familiar with her through competitions, festivals and teaching engagements. She placed highly in Dina's *Al Rakesa* competition, which further increased her visibility. Her dancing combines modern Cairo technique with a comparatively relaxed and musical movement quality, making her an important representative of contemporary Egyptian Raqs Sharqi.
