Biography
Sabah Saeed developed an unusually broad professional foundation through ballet, modern dance, folk dance and Middle Eastern performance. Her classical career included work connected with companies such as Chicago Festival Ballet, Ballet Chicago and Alabama Ballet. She later studied in Cairo and performed with an Egyptian folkloric company, giving her direct experience with theatrical Egyptian movement traditions. In 2006 she joined Bellydance Superstars, where her ballet background contributed to a distinctive fusion vocabulary that included pointe work alongside Oriental movement. Sabah later became deeply involved with Bellydance Evolution and eventually assumed an important artistic-programming role within the company. Her career represents a sophisticated form of theatrical fusion built on extensive professional training in both Western concert dance and Middle Eastern forms.
