Petite Jamilla

Petite Jamilla grew up in a dancing family and was trained from childhood by her mother, folkloric dancer Jamilla Rasa. She began working professionally at fifteen. Later she became a founding member and choreographer for Bellydance Superstars, touring internationally for nearly a decade. Her performances became especially associated with fluid veil work and polished theatrical Oriental dance. She has continued teaching and performing while preserving connections between the folkloric environment in which she was raised and the large-stage international belly-dance world.
