Julieta Maffia

Julieta Maffia is an Argentinian fusion dancer whose work developed within the country's large and technically sophisticated belly-dance community. Unlike many Argentine artists focused primarily on Egyptian-style Raqs Sharqi, Julieta became strongly associated with Tribal and contemporary fusion vocabulary. She founded Saturnus Studio in Buenos Aires, creating a dedicated environment for fusion training and artistic experimentation. Her choreography draws on isolation-based belly-dance technique while incorporating contemporary aesthetics and alternative movement influences. Julieta has gained recognition through international teaching, festival appearances and digital platforms. Her work is useful for Raqs Atlas because it demonstrates that Latin America's influence on international belly dance extends far beyond the classical Raqs Sharqi competition scene.
