Biography
Jillina Carlano built an international reputation as a performer and choreographer before becoming one of the most visible directors in modern belly dance. She served for years as artistic director and principal choreographer for the Bellydance Superstars. That touring company brought large-scale belly-dance productions to theatres throughout the world. Jillina later created Bellydance Evolution, combining Oriental dance with narrative theatrical productions and multidisciplinary performers. Her work has had a substantial influence on choreography, stage professionalism and the large-company presentation of contemporary belly dance.
