Iana Komarnytska

Iana Komarnytska is a Ukrainian-born professional dancer, educator and media creator whose career developed substantially in Canada. She completed formal dance studies at York University and spent several years working as a full-time performer in Toronto. Her competitive achievements include the Star Bellydancer Canada title in 2014. Beyond her own performances, Iana created the *Belly Dance Life Podcast*, which has grown into one of the largest interview archives documenting contemporary international Oriental dancers. Through hundreds of conversations with performers, teachers, researchers and organisers, her media work preserves information that might otherwise remain scattered across temporary social-media posts. Her online school and educational content further extend her influence beyond the traditional performer-instructor model.
