Heather “Henna” Louise

Heather Louise, also known in dance circles as Henna, has built a career shaped by extensive experience with Middle Eastern music and dance across several countries. After years of belly-dance training she relocated to Asia and became active in Tokyo's professional restaurant and entertainment circuit. Her Japanese career included work with live musicians and the multicultural group Alladeen. She later became involved in establishing the Tokyo International Bellydance Competition, helping strengthen Japan's connection with the global festival and competition community. Heather eventually returned to the United States while continuing to teach and share material based on her international experience. Her career is particularly relevant to the history of how Japan became one of the strongest Oriental dance communities in East Asia.
