About
Biography
Estelle Zaghloul Ramia is a Lebanese-born dancer whose international career became particularly significant in Latin America. She lived in Lebanon until her teenage years and carried direct cultural knowledge of Lebanese music and movement into her later professional work. Estelle became widely recognised after winning the first season of the Lebanese television dance competition **Hezzi Ya Nawaeem**. In Costa Rica and neighbouring countries she became one of the first belly dancers to enter major national theatrical stages rather than remaining limited to restaurant and private-event environments. Her later work expanded into what she calls Modern Organic Dance and other approaches connecting Oriental movement with broader embodiment and artistic practices. Her career makes her an important example of a Levantine artist influencing the development and public legitimacy of Oriental dance in Latin America.
