Ciya

Ciya developed an extensive movement background from childhood, including ballet, circus skills and contortion before discovering Oriental dance as a teenager. She subsequently built a professional performance career that included work for prestigious private clients and appearances in film and theatrical productions. Her experience also included Paris-based companies and major stage environments before she created her own production projects. In 2009 she established **Sheherazade's**, followed by leadership of Egypt'Ciya Ballet and professional educational initiatives. She has operated her own dance space and developed training programmes for dancers seeking professional-level Oriental technique. Ciya's combination of circus discipline, classical movement and Oriental dance has given her a distinctive role within the French theatrical belly-dance scene.
