Aida Nour

Aida Nour built her foundation in Egyptian folkloric dance before becoming an important Raqs Sharqi performer and teacher. Her professional background included work connected with major Egyptian national and theatrical dance institutions. She later developed a strong international reputation for teaching Egyptian technique, Baladi and folkloric material. Nour has also played an organisational role in international dance festivals in Cairo, helping bring foreign students into direct contact with Egyptian teachers. Her long career makes her an important link between Reda-era theatrical training, professional Cairo Oriental dance and the modern international workshop circuit.
